FAQ

 My Portfolio

Here is a collection of most of the recent websites that I've designed. "Recent" meaning sometime in the past two years. Keep in mind that in two years time, I have learned a great deal more about making pages successful and about design. Either way, take a look at these and enjoy the tour.

Some current work being done... Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, PlanetBurrito.com, SouthwestPostDesigns.com (SEO), BraddyInvGrp.com (just editing and SEO), WinkMartindale.com (maintenance).

SEO Handyman (www.SEOhandyman.com)

A new website service dedicated soley to revamping current websites for better search results and web exposure. A simple left menu layout was used along with my trademark vivid colors. Most of the graphics were designed in Fireworks. This site is currently still in construction, not for design but for content.

FYI, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

Like the cute little tools?

Bi-State Rubber, Inc. (www.BiStateRubber.com)

An industrial custom conveyor belt manufacturer and manufacturer of other rubber products had me make them a site that would serve, among other things, as a sort of online product catalog. Not a catalog in so much as for ordering, but as an effective way to show their worldwide customers all they offer. Probably the most common reason for a company needing a website is to easily display what it is they do. Plenty of pictures and illustrations go a long way in establishing credibility and making communication easier.

On this site I created a couple of nifty gif animations as well: Weigh Feeder Conveyor Belt and Expansion Joint

Steve Doria (www.SteveDoria.com)

An idea of what you can have for a personal site. This is mine of coure, and it is created to be just another design idea, and a way for my freinds and family to contact me. Any search online for "Steve Doria" will bring this site up at the top.

A three page site like this can be suprisingly affordable.

Pueblo Carpools (vol 1)

A website was needed quickly for this new service and I produced this one in a couple of hours. While it's not a bad looking site, further reflection told me that it was too dark and didn't convey the sense of "approachableness" that was needed.

I have been asked a couple of times about the car in the picture. It's a 1967 Cadillac El Dorado...notice the license plate? Yes, that's been edited.

My Personal Site (www.TortillaBoy.com)

While the name was a bit of an accident, the site design was not. Specifically focused on organizing a wide variety of subjects into one website demands a well thought out navigation system and site layout. I feel this was accomplished very well.

Currently, this site is averaging over 300 unique visitors/day with over 4000 page views/day. Pretty impressive for a personal site.

TB-Designs vol. 3 (the previous design of this site)

The previous version of this constantly changing site, was designed to give as much information as possible on the front page. Since I was new to Pueblo, I really wanted to incorporate Pueblo related elements into the design. I used the city logo and some pictures from around town.

I decided to redesign the site, just to try something different and to exercise my new found fondness of vector graphics and XHTML.

TB-Designs vol. 2 (a previous design of this site)

The previous version of this constantly changing site, was designed give more information than the previous version. Making use of a splash page and rollover link images to introduce the site, the large logo was to leave an impression. The pillars on the interior pages were fun to make and came out real well, IMO.

I redesigned the site just to try something different and to try a slightly more professional look.

TB-Designs vol. 1 (the first version of this site)

The previous version of this constantly changing site, was designed as a bare bones introduction to my services.

The lizard picture was taken by me at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The title letters are individual images that spread out according to the viewer's screen resolution. It's simple and clear. A nice one page layout.
